Immeasurable: God’s Power At Work Within

Immeasurable: God's Power At Work WithinNow to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:20, 21 NIV)

Protection

As I want us to hear good news, we must realize situation near our borders is about to change course of our country. Praying God’s protection as their forced invasion seems to be what they want- or led astray believing they want. When waving their own country’s flag, they are not leaving fearful. They are waving a sense of power. In midst of all concerns and opinions are plentiful, we need God’s directions more than ever. When seeking God’s Word, we’re seeking Him, learning His promises, ways He protects, and guides our steps.

Immeasurable

When we need encouraged, read verses like today’s scripture. Key words like immeasurable- the immensity of God’s willingness is staggering to consider. Like studying the ocean, captured by endless sight of no boundaries. God’s sovereignty is profound, as we surrender our lives under His authority. In order to say- You are my God, my Protector, my Healer, my Shield, my Rear Guard and so much more, we first have to accept Jesus as our Savior. Once we do, the immeasurable is about to begin.

Ask

Ask is the second key word standing out to me. Scripture states in James 4:2, 3 You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. We need to ask God with right motives, which is for the good of others, glorifying God in all we do. I’m a believer in what we sow, we’ll reap.

Imagine

Imagine is the third word. Using the gift of our minds, let’s tap into imagining. This is hard for realist, concrete thinkers. Yet, in order to receive the immeasurable, we have to expand thinking to imagine more than what we see. Setting goals is a good start, next step imagine how to accomplish. Imagining does not stop there…oh, the possibilities.

Power

Take all three key words and add…according to His power at work within us. Does this light a fire within? It does me- powerful! Accepting Jesus as Savior, we ask for forgiveness of sins. I realize this is a hangup for people- there is need to repent of sin. We cannot have God’s power at work within us and be immersed in sin. Having the immeasurable done by asking with right motives, willing to expand thoughts to imagine all according to God’s power at work within us. This is not just good news, it’s amazing news. The work is hard- giving up ideologies, accepting God’s Word as Truth; rewards are immeasurable.
