Confidence: Who Are We? Overcoming Temptation…

Confidence: Who Are We? Overcoming Temptation...For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are- yet, was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (Hebrews 4:15, 16 NIV)

Confidence

The key word today is confidence. The difference between falling into vaping, drugs, alcohol is confidence. People who do these may carry lots of arrogance and pride- all a false sense of confidence. Our local news in the quad states of MO/KY/IL/TN ran a segment on dangers of juuling in middle school and high school students. This saddens me how many great kids are being sucked into these life altering choices, unable to say, “NO.”

Popular

The students willing to say, “No” and take the brunt of their ridicule. It’s deemed the popular kids who are falling into this trap. A year ago, I asked a student- why look at this as popular- why not see success in academics and arts/athletics as popular? Students today really have this mixed up- in my day- these were the kids who dropped out of high school cruising by school each day trying to look cool. Now a year has passed since speaking with this particular student, and as I heard between lines with my own…more have turned to marijuana. Has this been the plans of Big Pharma and the government?

Life Altering

Prolonged use of vaping/smoking/alcohol all have life altering outcomes- even to point of death. However, the more dependency on the government, more control they have over our lives. Smaller Government like President Trump desires, empowers Americans to work hard, having self confidence to make clear minded decisions. The life altering burns brain cells. Having confidence to say, “NO” is good, yet, having confidence in who we are in Christ is key to completely overcome temptation and ridicule.

Who Are We?

We have to know who we are in Christ. To have God’s Word stored in our hearts and minds. To have God’s hedge of protection around us- around our children- that no evil is able to even tempt. Yet, God’s Word says here, we will be tempted in every way, just like happened to Jesus. God’s grace and mercy are powerful duos working in the lives of those who trust Jesus, as Lord and Savior. He will never leave nor forsake us. It is my confidence of who I am in Christ that brings peace to separate, live in this world, just not part of this world. Two different thought processes.

Increased Confidence

The more we seek Jesus, more we find. More faithful we are to Jesus, more faithful He is with us…increased confidence to stand strong with God- against life’s temptations. We need to pray God’s protection more than ever over ourselves and our children. Vaping seems in epidemic proportions. We need Jesus’ intervention. His Word is the only answer to breaking the devil’s stronghold. Let’s make sure we and our children walk in confidence of who we are in Christ Jesus. Lives depend on this, willing to share this blog?

Be encouraged!
