Spirit and Truth: Freedom Vs. Bondage

Spirit and Truth: Freedom Vs. BondageYet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirt and in truth. (John 4:23, 24 NIV)

Honest?

Why do people want our President’s life miserable? When Jesus dealt with Pharisee’s fury over performing miracles, He remained in God’s Will. It will be interesting if the new House members that presented themselves as moderates, will remain honest or be openly socialist and progressive. In life, Christians develop maturity by aligning our thoughts and actions with God’s Word. This happens over time, learning from life’s lessons, applying God’s Word and react pleasing to our Lord, Jesus Christ. As this happens, a true heart of worship will develop within, worshiping The Father in spirit and truth.

Hopeful?

As we watched the House of Representatives regain Democratic control, could there be a false sense of hopefulness for the new members. They all ran campaigns rejecting former speaker of the house. This will be interesting…tangling with snakes can lead to deadly/poisonous bites. Where people perish for lack of knowledge, they become misled, confused and eventually deceived. Unable or unwilling to reason clearly, leaves us believing ideology opposite of God’s Word. This is reflected in choices we make.

Spirit and Truth

How can Christians vote for a pro-abortion candidate? We are seeing more and more movement away from spirit and truth. How sad for Kansas to have “moderate republican” support “moderate left” and not their own party. Sometimes it seems more Christian vs. Non-Christian than Republican Vs. Democrat…the extreme left is turning democrats into more of their way of thinking- leading many to walk away. This is when it’s key to understand God’s word, applying God’s wisdom and understanding, not accepting flattery of great speakers. The Bible has lots to say about flattery- Psalm 12:2 ESV Everyone utter lies to his neighbor; with flattering lips and a double heart they speak. We’ve seen more than enough political adds supporting this thought.

Freedom

Confident many wonder why politics is intertwined with Biblical Truth…As we study scripture- we gain knowledge how God viewed both. It was never God’s plan for His people to have earthly Kings. Yet, people pleaded, and God allowed. Even as things may be permissible, are they beneficial? We have to ask ourselves about many things within government control. Larger government = more dependency craved under their control. Smaller government = more control we have over our own lives…called freedom. To be the kind of worshiper God seeks, we cannot be gripped by satan. Opposite of freedom is bondage. We want freedom. Freedom in Christ, allows pure worship in spirit and truth. And…be the one The Father seeks.

Be encouraged!
