Forward Friday!
Happy New Year! The year 2020 upon us, I turned 50 a few days ago, and life has never been more important. I am thrilled to be 50. My mother only lived 49 years and three+ months. Though life deals tough times, God remains Sovereign. John 1 is one of my favorite Bible chapters. It’s clear Jesus is the Word, He had been with God, then sent to earth to save us all from sin.
Life
Jesus’ life on earth was all God’s purpose; as with each one of our lives. Even though we know God has a purpose and plan for our lives, people reject God’s free give of Salvation. Though it’s free, John 1 points out Moses wrote the law, and Jesus brought grace and truth. All three are important to understand- God’s laws, grace, and truth. The more we study our Bibles, clearer each becomes.
How Hearts Darken?
Romans 1: 21 for although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Sadly, when people refuse to repent from sin, in Romans 1:28 Since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of Christ, he(Jesus) gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done, becoming filled with every kind of wickedness.
Truth
I point out Romans 1, due to the fact when Biblical Truth is rejected, hearts become darkened. Jesus gives an unrepentant, darkened heart over to a depraved mind; becoming filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed, and depravity. Keep reading Romans 1- a real eye opener to sin and consequences of sin. There are conditions, we have a commitment to Christ- to follow His Word, become transformed by the renewing of our minds. No longer are we like we were, the Bible teaches: God’s thoughts/His ways. God’s ways are higher than ours, His thoughts are not our thoughts. It is not God be like us- a lie permeating many churches- it’s God’s wish to transform each life into His likeness.
Hope
NYEve will always be my blogging anniversary- now entering 8th year. Timing astounds me…only last year did I cut down to one or two blogs each week. For seven years… blogs were posted every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. All releasing Biblical Truth against deception, teaching not to be deceived. Then add in 2019… This is a great deal of information. From the beginning, I’m only God’s vessel, to write as He directs me. Since the beginning- Societal Confusion has amassed. Deception has spread- more false teachers, churches overtaken by leftist or greed, yet…65,000 youth/college age gathered in Atlanta for Passion 2020- prayer, worship, and Bible teaching. We have hope.
Paths
It’s like paths are widening…though the path to Eternal life in Heaven is narrow, and the path to destruction is wide…there is becoming a greater divide between the two. God’s light will never be over shadowed by darkness. God’s light will shine…reaching down to the darkest pit. We must keep praying, and keep eyes on Jesus. He is life and through Him we will have life everlasting!
