Repentance: Turning From Sin- To Jesus

But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord, a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:8,9 NIV)

Forward Friday!

There are times, I feel I have said all I can say. Societal Confusion has been unleashed, deception roaring, and people are deceived- completely brainwashed. Many are speaking, Jesus come quickly, yet, none of us know the time nor day when Jesus returns. Peter describes slowness best- God’s timing is not aligned with our understanding of time. God is patient. The Lord knows, grateful we are…neither should we wish anyone to perish.

Repentance

The only way to avoid perishing is through accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; believe He died on the cross, raised three days later, and confess He is Lord. Once we make a sincere commitment, The Holy Spirit is deposited within our beings. He is the Spirit of Truth, and will help us through counseling and teachings, as we yield self-ideoligies to God’s Will. Conviction is a tool The Holy Spirit uses to nudge us from sin. Sin leads to death, unless we repent. Repentance is very seldom preached in many churches. The church that justifies sin, accepting sin as a way to define love, is leading many to hell. We are not to leave individuals in sin…yet, help them to turn away from sin, turning to Jesus.

Faith

Years ago, we were in a church, learning a FAITH acronym. An evangelism tool, helping lead others to Christ. If I remember correctly- Forgiveness, Acceptance, Intervention, Turn, Heaven…I will double check this and if any is wrong, I’ll correct next writing. We would set out in teams and visit locals, inviting them to church, discussing FAITH. God’s Word has never changed. There has been rebellions throughout all times, I have to wonder if the severity felt today was similar to the 60’s or worse? At the very heart of all societies, there is a need for Jesus. We are a lost world in need of a Savior, Jesus Christ- the One and Only way to Heaven.

Moving Forward!

As we move forward, let’s pray repentance will return to sermons and real conversations held. May the deceived have eyes to open, ears to hear, and hearts softened to understand Spiritual Truths and how they relate to our current culture. Fall is in the air…change of season will be great! There is still much to discuss and God’s Word to share!

Be encouraged!
